Welcome to the Whitlock Environmental Team (W.E.T.) web page. We formed W.E.T. because we recognized the need to clean up the common areas in our neighborhood. Common areas in our neighborhood are our streets, gutters, ditches, sidewalks and alleys. By cleaning up the litter we give our neighborhood a fresher face. Several times a year we will organize a clean-up on a Saturday morning and volunteers will move through the neighborhood picking up the trash in these common areas. The W.E.T. Team wants to set a good example for everyone by keeping our neighborhood clean and tidy. And we want all the neighbors to get involved by helping the team. You can help by:
Volunteering for one of our cleanups – we welcome children, too. Letting us stow trash in your trash bin after a clean-up Providing drinks or snacks to our volunteers on clean-up day Identifying areas that need special attention on our clean-up day Keeping yards and alleys neat and free from debris Painting over or removing graffiti if it occurs on your property Keeping your trash and recycle bins off the street except on trash pick-up days
(Note: City ordinance states the trash bins (green) and recycle bins (blue) can only be on the street from 6:00 pm the day before your scheduled trash pickup day until 6:00 pm on your scheduled trash pick-up day. Our scheduled trash pick-up day is Thursdays each week. And remember only every other week for the blue recycle bins.)
Watch the Home Page for the next scheduled clean-up day and come on out and get involved. We are your neighbors and we have lots of fun while working for a better neighborhood.
